Swimming Lessons

After just four lessons, Ben was already swimming without floaties and fins! Amazing kid. I know if Zoe was a little older she'd be doing the same. But she's paying close attention. They say the best way to learn is to imagine having to teach someone else what you learn. So Zoe must be learning because she taught her baby doll to swim in no time flat. Swim class is made all the more special by one of Ben's best friends Patrick.

How can we leave S.CA. when we can go to an outside pool year round? And that's why... we're not!

Be Careful or it will stay that way

I ALMOST hit them on the back just to see if the the tale is true (the 'if someone hits you on the back your face will stay that way' story). But I decided their lives will be hard enough with me as their lunatic mom... better not make them any harder.

My Batman

Imagine if you were in mortal peril and you sent out the bat signal to summon Batman to help you escape with your life. And in his stead he sent MY batman- Ben, naked with bat glasses, to rescue you. Your assailants would laugh just long and hard enough for you to escape and you would realize that Batman, the real batman, knows what he's doing. Don't question the Batman.

Zoe poses as the stubborn and pouty, but sultry damsel in distress.
And Steve is Ben's village idiot side kick.

Dinner Time at Chez BZ

We have dinner entertainment every night at our house. And for tonight's pleasure Ben and Zoe will humor you with their unique beat poetry. Then they will have to see their performances played back for them on camera. Then they will run around the house like wild animals finally let loose from their cages after a long journey across the Serengeti.

Basket Cases

Sometimes parenting turns me into a basket case. I decided to use that thought to my advantage. I stuffed them in a basket while I went and read a nice book. They were forced to amuse themselves while waiting for me to rescue them out. Of course, after I finished reading Pat the Bunny, I immediately went to help them out, but they'd already escaped and ransacked the house. Thus turning me back into a basket case. Score 99 - the kids. Zero - mom
