If the name fits

Little Squirt lives up to one of his tamer nicknames while playing with the water fountain at the park.

Power perspectives

Ben: Mom tried to teach me how to turn off the water so I wouldn't waste it. So I showed her and stayed in the sink for hours "practicing." heh heh.

Mom: I convinced Ben to play with the sink water for a good while today so I could read a few pages of my book. What a maroon!

Lions, run for your lives!

Ben goes on safari in Santa Monica, July 9th.

Are you getting the subliminal messages yet?

Note: read blog post title

And you thought this blog was just all pictures of Ben. I'm really mind controlling you. Or actually Ben is. Or he's controlling me. Or both. Wait. Ben, stop it. You're doing it again. I never should have done that scientific testing while Ben was in utero. Didn't I learn anything from Firestarter? I think we all learned a thing or two from that movie/book.

Cookie

And they said Sesame Street was ejucaytional. Tell that to my lens cap as it was being devoured by Ben while spouting "COOOOOKIE" with his best Cookie Monster impression.

The Fourth of July, obviously

It took me while to get to the July pics (it's only SEP. 22 now after all) and a while for you to get through all these backlogged photos. But isn't it worth it to see the look on the back of this kid's face as he stares at the truck with Washington going by.

The drama of the game

Ben gears up to put on some high drama a la european soccer stars if his friend (3.5 years his elder) so much as touches him when he tries to make a goal.

Just the four of us

Juuust the four of us, la la la la la la laaaa. Juuust the four of us, we can make it if we try. Or if Ben let's us get some sleep. La La La La Laaa.

A face in the sun

Ben faces the face of the sun with faces of his own.

Last Day

The last day of Grams and Allan's visit we all went to the park to try to distract Ben away from the sad fact that they were leaving early the next morning. Okay, so really he had no clue what was going on and the next morning he woke up saying, "huh, wha' wha' happened? How'd I get here? Who am I? Who are you?" Like usual.

Family portrait

Too bad for the small smudge on my camera lens. If only it were bigger it would have blocked out my face entirely.

Family Fun

When Grams and Allan visited the Vanderbok side of the family everyone was full of smiles, except Ben who is always a little leary of new and possibly explosive situations. I think he was even hoping for fireworks. Too bad for him, everyone had a great time together.

Grams' camera

Pictures from Mom'm (grams') inferior camera make superior results. It's all in the heart.
