Bowling for Barks

After lots of bowling practice involving our dogs in various ways (use your imagination) at the dog park, a group of like minded people (i.e. people who know that dogs are the real rulers of this planet) took a trip to an actual bowling alley last Friday night.

As you can see, Steve and I look a little gooberish with our mouths in wide happiness as we revel in some Ben free time. And although we may have been more physically demonstrative than everyone else (at least as captured in pictures, except for Iris) everyone had a great time. Kelly beat everyone with a four bagger. Leland, Billie and Amy turned into vampires and so don't show up in pictures. Maria, Iris, Moe, Wilma, Billie and Josh, wavy blond Kelly, Amy, and Mike all lived to tell the tale of Leland falling on them. Maria, a.k.a. Sweet Wille skidded and then fell down the lane. And Iris nearly killed a family of four in the next lane over as she tossed the ball behind her.

My thanks to Sweet Willie for supplying these great pics.

Kali the Clown

After yet another morning wake up call at 4:50 a.m. Kali finally had a complete mental and physical break down. She cried, yelled, cackled like a hyena, levitated, spontaneously sprouted a clown suit and then in a perfect British accent told us all what she really thinks of babies...
In her words:
"pbbbbbbbbbbt!!!"

"Come," they told me

My Auntie Wendy sent me a drum for my six month birthday. And now I am the happiest little drummer boy. But mom says that the little drummer boy walks right to his death in battle. Thanks a lot for trying to have me killed Auntie Wendy.

A Fist Full of Thoughts

Ben is turning out to be quite the romantic. He enjoys long strolls on the beach, reading poetry (Dr. Suess), and quiet evenings at home in the bath. Here he is in deep contemplation, inspired by the grains of sand at the beach. He is awed and perplexed by the incredible vastness of their number. They are seemingly infinite, and yet he knows that on this earth they are finite. How can something so small be so big?

As you can see in the last picture he snaps his fingers and thinks, "That's it. I figured it out." But despite all my begging he's remaining tight lipped. Although I think that's just because he's trying to keep more of that damned, seemingly infinite sand from getting into his mouth.

A Visit From Planet Mom

She came, she saw, she conquered. As always we thoroughly enjoy mother's visits, however high energy and exhausting they may be. This time, unfortunately, she spent most of her time on the phone trying to situate her mother, who's health was ailing, in better, more hospitable environs while she's away in Australia awaiting the arrival of her newest spawn, Grubbet (who's name is yet to be revealed).

Thanks for stopping be Mom.

Laugh, cry, squeeze cheeks till dry

Goofing off with Ben is always a roller coaster ride of emotions.
