Coming Soon to a Blog Near You

We just got back from our first week away from the Los Angeles Homestead since giving birth to Ben (not including his four star stay at Hotel Kaiser Permanente upon birth of course). Ben was thrilled to see his grandparents Nita and Allan, Grams and Gramps as he's been instructed to call them. Although that sets them up for all sorts of goof ups like Lambs and Lamps, or Trams and Tramps, which I will have a hard time not encouraging :) He laughed and laughed at their antics, as did I, and a good time was had by all (even though it was my first time in Vegas without gambling a dime leaving me with an empty feeling inside, which is I'm told how you're supposed to feel from gambling excessively... so does that make it a vice to do too little of somethingas well as too much? I'll leave that one for the great philosopher Pee Wee Herman to decide).

SOON TO COME: VEGAS BABY PICTURES

In the meantime here are more early baby pictures as I still have lots to post to catch up until now. These pictures are from 5.01.05 to 5.02.05

4.25.05-4.30.05 and Selling the First Born

We're off to Vegas tomorrow to visit my mom and Allan. I plan to sell the baby for chips if a lucky streak turns bad! I'll be back with more Ben pics in a week.

4.24.05

4.23.05

Finally I've gotten to the point in the pictures where I actually had the foresight and organizational energy to catalogue them by dates! And it only took a month and a half!!

Change of race

Thought I'd change the pace a little with some pictures of my sister Wendy coming to Kali's rescue. Poor Kali was locked in the high tower with a screaming hellion destroying the peace. With no long golden flowing hair to drop down she had to unroll her long slick tongue which she promptly used to lick Wendy in thanks for her generous attention.

One More For Today

I have time to post a few more pictures (I really have a lot to get through to catch up until today) because Steve's out romping with Kali and Ben at Venice High School's football field down the block. He says he's playing fetch with Kali, but I think he's trying to get Ben on the waiting list for a couple of the cool gangs. Things really are competitive around here.

Today's Pics

Today's pictures cover two-four weeks after Ben's birth when my mom and sister came to visit. Only three and a half more months worth of pictures and I will be caught up! Ben is thinking of writing his memoirs considering the amount of pictures taken over the course of his four months of life as there would be enough to fill a book. He is looking forward to the questions and answers period of his book signings as he has lots to say these days. He's constantly babbling and I often have to push him to get to his point.

One more picture

Kept Promises

As you can see, I keep my promises (more pictures every day, as promised)... unlike SOME... you know who you are. Yes, I'm referring to you Ronald McDonald. I believe I was promised no cheese and when you delivered, there was CHEESE! Some things I can forgive, but not that... not that.

Monty Python vs. Gilligan

Wendy and I are arguing over whether or not Monty Python is still funny or relevant given today's high comedy standards of the Daily Show and Gilligan's Island. You decide! Write in with your weigh in!

More old pictures below!

Family Fun

I've got my sister, a.k.a. Miss Anthrope W., on the phone right now and she's sucking the funny right out of me by yapping incessantly, so I will be plain.

These are more pictures shortly after the birth.

Ben's Dawn

Emerging from the womb with the red glow of dawn on his face (well only when he was screaming) Ben, like a new day, was both beautiful and frightening in his mystery. The mystery was quickly gone however, when we realized he was just an eating and pooping machine, albeit a cute one. As Kali so aptly put it, it was time for us to stop being nice and start getting real. I realized then that, hey, maybe she is learning something from all the reality T.V. she watches. She is wise beyond her years now and ready to be the older child in the pack, although she was eager to evict Ben from the Big Sister house right off the bat.

Now, that things have calmed a bit, power struggles have evened out in the pack and things are starting to take on a more predictable rhythm I have time to post all the backlogged pictures from Ben's first months of life. I will do them in increments, so you can fully enjoy and savor little Ben (and other fishy characters in his life) in all his messy glory. Keep posted as I will try to add new ones every day.
